This photo is courtesy of Mary Harvey, from our reunion held 10/29/05
Those at the reunion in October, were moved by her continued beauty, grace and courage in attending. After the first reunion mailing, she had enthuastically responded that she 'couldn't wait'. Later, her cancer resurfaced, and we were unsure if she'd be able to make it. Laurel Henning, Chuck Frans and Chris Lindahl kindly considered visiting her in Texas in the event she was unable to make the trip. In the class photo, Pam, truly striking, is seated in the front row, in a coral colored pant suit. The reunion committee had in place to send a CD copy of the slideshow -
and was just days away from sending it, pending the words for the enclosure.
Requests for the family's address can be directed to the Webmaster.
Those wishing to share condolences can forward them to the webmaster for publication here and/or will be forwarded to Pam's husband, Bryan.
This is a note sent by Janet Sobchak that was sent on to Pam's Husband......
Thank you Janet for allowing us to print this here!
"I hope that this will be forwarded to Pam's husband and family."
"I am so sorry to hear about Pam. I am a Prospect Knight of 75 and although I was not a close friend of Pam's, I do remember her. I must tell you that I am a breast cancer survivor. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in November of 2003 - just a few months after Pam. I did 4 months of chemo. Had a bilateral mastectomy. (I had decided to be tested to see if I carry the breast cancer gene and the result was - yes I do.) So I had my other breast removed. I am so very saddened to hear about Pam. But more important, I must tell you that at the reunion, Pam and I made definate eye contact. She looked at me and I looked at her -
but we moved on, because we really did not know eachother. But I can picture in my mind that eye contact we had, and I will NEVER, as long as I live, ever forget that. I have to tell you that this brings tears to my eyes. I can only wish that I had talked to her.
My sincere condolence's to Bryan and to all of Pam's family.
Thank you so much for listening."...........Janet (Sobchak) Jacobs
"I was so happy to see Pam & her husband at the reunion. She looked fresh, beautiful and deceivingly healthy.
She told me that she hadn't missed a reunion yet, and that this one was very important to her. Her husband
told me they had walked alot in downtown Chicago and that it took alot out of her; but that she was so happy
to have done it all and that this weekend had meant so much to her. I know I will always think of her with the
grace and dignity she showed"...........Nancy (Handwerker) Etian
